Wood Cup Final Sunday 6 August at Middleton
- Rochdale 183 v Crompton
Rochdale skipper Dale Highton chose to bat after winning the toss. They then found runs hard to come by, but after a patient innings from Andrew Dawson who made 50 they eventually scored 183 all out in 49.3 overs.
A rain interruption disrupted Rochdale’s innings late on, and when play resumed Crompton Pro Akbar Rehman proved his worth in taking 4 for 16 in a late burst as Rochdale tried to force the pace with their overs running out.
Unfortunately, continuous rain then fell and there was no further play after the tea interval.
The match will be re played on Sunday 20 August again at Middleton with a 1.00pm start when we all hope for better weather.
