Littleborough Restaurants in Running for Prestigious Curry Award
Two of Littleborough’s best-loved dining spots, Thamin and Wild Ginger, have been shortlisted for one of the UK curry industry’s top honours. Both restaurants are finalists in the North-West Regional Restaurant of the Year category at the upcoming Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2025.
Dubbed the “Oscars of the curry industry,” ARTA is the UK’s most prestigious celebration of pan-Asian cuisine, shining a spotlight on the nation’s most talented chefs, restaurants and takeaways. This year’s glittering awards ceremony will take place at the London Hilton Park Lane on Monday 6th October, hosted by BBC journalist Samantha Simmonds alongside magician Paul Martin.
Competition has been fierce. More than 1,295 restaurants and takeaways were nominated by diners and food lovers nationwide, with the shortlist reflecting the very best of Asian cuisine across the UK. Nominations came through ARTA’s strategic partner ChefOnline, one of the UK’s largest platforms linking customers to Asian dining, as well as via social media and factors such as Food Hygiene Ratings.
Mohammed Munim, ARTA’s Founder Member and CEO, praised the role of Asian restaurants in Britain, saying:
“Asian restaurants and takeaways have long played a vital role in the UK’s economy and culture. Their contribution through job creation, community impact, and culinary excellence, deserves to be recognised. Especially in today’s challenging climate, ARTA is proud to champion their achievements and support their continued success.”
For Littleborough, having two local favourites recognised among the North-West’s finest is a major boost and a reflection of the great eateries we have here.
Winners on the night will be announced across categories including National Champion of Champions, Regional Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, and Takeaway of the Year, making the event one of the biggest dates in the food industry calendar.
With both Thamin and Wild Ginger in the running, Littleborough food lovers will have double the reason to cheer when the results are revealed this October.
