Zoe's Running 60 Miles for Crohn’s and Colitis UK – with Bulldog Roy in Costume
Zoe has signed up for the charity’s Run 60 Challenge, which sees participants run, jog, or power walk 60 miles throughout the month. Determined to add some extra fun to her fundraising, Zoe will be completing the miles in costume. Her faithful Bulldog, Roy, will be joining her for ten of those miles, also dressed up for the occasion.
In a post announcing her challenge, Zoe wrote:
“During September I will be taking part in the Run 60 for Crohn's & Colitis UK event. To both raise awareness of IBD, which I suffer from, and help to raise funds that could one day help fund a cure. To make it slightly harder Roy will be doing 10 of the miles with me. With a catch. We’ve both got outfits….. he’s not so happy with his… mine’s heavier than it looks.”
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which affects over 500,000 people across the UK. The conditions can cause severe pain, exhaustion, and digestive problems, and while there is currently no cure, Crohn’s and Colitis UK works tirelessly to fund vital research, support patients, and raise awareness of the challenges faced by those living with IBD.
By taking part in the challenge, Zoe hopes not only to raise funds but also to share her own story of living with IBD, encouraging others to support the cause and help bring forward the day when a cure is found.
Supporters can follow Zoe’s progress throughout September as she and Roy hit the pavements of Littleborough turning heads while taking steps towards a better future for everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
