Tribute to Damian Jackson of Littleborough Brass Band

It is with deep sadness that the Littleborough Brass Bands Association has announced the passing of Damian Jackson, one of the band's most dedicated and longest-serving members. Damian was a versatile musician who filled nearly every seat in the band, from Principal Cornet to percussion, and served as a mentor to many as the junior band leader and band master.
For 14 years, Damian courageously battled brain tumours, undergoing multiple surgeries but always returning to his "banding family." His final performances in 2024 saw the band win the Holme Valley Contest and perform at the seaside in Lytham.
The funeral will be held on Monday, January 19th, at 2:20 pm at Rochdale Crematorium. A special band will perform in his honour. The Association invites former band members who played with Damian to join the cortege. The wake will follow at Littleborough Cricket Club.
Those wishing to play are asked to contact the Littleborough Brass Band via their Facebook page.
