New sailing courses at Hollingworth Lake
Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club has announced an exciting new opportunity for anyone looking to take their first steps into sailing, with the launch of its RYA Start Sailing (Level 1) courses - now included as part of the club’s refreshed New Members Package.
The initiative aims to make sailing more accessible to local residents by combining training and membership into one affordable bundle.
The club will run three weekend courses this spring and early summer:
- 16–17 May
- 30–31 May
- 6–7 June
Designed specifically for complete beginners aged 14+, the course is delivered by qualified instructors and focuses on building confidence, essential skills, and safe handling on the water.
The full New Members Package costs £220, which includes:
- Annual membership
- The full RYA Start Sailing Level 1 course
- Access to club facilities and support
- Options for family and joint memberships
Spaces are limited, and the club expects strong interest as the new season begins.
Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club has long been a hub for watersports in the Rochdale borough, offering a friendly environment for newcomers and experienced sailors alike. The new package is part of the club’s ongoing effort to grow participation and encourage more people to enjoy the lake.
