Hare Hill Bowling Club Raises £1,600 for Alzheimer’s Society
Members and friends of Hare Hill Bowling Club came together for a successful charity bowling event in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, raising an impressive £1,600 for the organisation.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from club members and supporters, all united by a common goal of helping those affected by dementia. The day combined friendly competition with a strong community spirit, resulting in a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
On the green, Cath Holt and Paul Bailey emerged as the overall winners of the match, while Anne Harris and John Bauld finished as runners-up after a closely contested competition.
Club members have since received a letter of thanks from the Alzheimer’s Society, recognising the significance of the donation and the difference it will make to people living with dementia and their families across the UK.
In its message, the charity highlighted the growing impact of dementia, with around 900,000 people currently living with the condition in the UK, a figure expected to rise significantly in the coming years. The Alzheimer’s Society thanked everyone involved and pledged to ensure that every penny raised contributes to vital services, support programmes, research, and campaigning efforts.
The charity also pointed to services such as Talking Point, its online support community, which provides a safe space for people living with dementia, carers, friends, and families to share experiences, advice, and support.
