Plans Submitted for 11 Homes on Former GNG Foam Converters Site
Plans have been submitted to build 11 new family homes on the site currently occupied by GNG Foam Converters on Todmorden Road.
The application, registered as PL/2025/1272, seeks full planning permission for the redevelopment of the site, replacing the existing commercial use with a residential scheme comprising two blocks of housing.
According to planning documents, the development would consist of 11 four-bedroom properties, arranged across two symmetrical terrace-style blocks. The first block would contain six homes, while the second would contain five. The buildings are designed with dual-pitched frontages and a three-storey appearance, featuring stepped entranceways.
Each property would provide four bedrooms, private front gardens and larger rear garden and patio areas overlooking the canal.
Developers are proposing to use and upgrade the existing site access, bringing it up to modern highway and footpath standards. A central turning head and parking area would separate the two housing blocks.
Parking provision forms a key part of the scheme, with two parking spaces allocated to every dwelling. Each home would also be equipped with an electric vehicle charging point. Refuse storage and cycle storage facilities are also included within the plans.
One notable aspect of the proposal is the retention of existing trees and landscaped areas along Todmorden Road, helping to maintain some of the site's established greenery.
The redevelopment would transform a site currently occupied by GNG Foam Converters into a residential development aimed at family housing. If approved, the scheme would add 11 new homes to the local housing stock while reusing an existing brownfield site.
The application will now be considered by the Council, with local residents able to submit comments before a decision is made.
