Life Without Limits Gym to Row “France and Back” for Veterans Charity
Life Without Limits Gym (LWL Gym) is taking on an epic fundraising challenge in support of Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), a national charity that has been transforming lives since 1919 by providing vital accommodation, welfare, and employment support to veterans and people with disabilities.
On Sunday, 14th September from 10am, the LWL Gym team will be setting up in Hare Hill Park to row the full distance from Dover to Dunkirk and back - a staggering 195,000 metres - using two Concept2 rowing machines. The ambitious challenge will run throughout the day, with staff, gym members, and supporters rotating on the rowers to push towards the finish line as quickly as possible.
But it’s not just the gym team who will be taking part. The public are warmly invited to get involved by jumping on a rower for as little as 10 minutes - or longer if they feel up to it - to help power the journey across the Channel and back.
The event aims to raise at least £500 through their JustGiving page, with every penny going to RBLI to support its mission of helping veterans and people with disabilities live independently and with dignity. For every donation made, supporters will also get a chance to spin the “Wheel of Fortune” for the chance to win raffle prizes and exclusive LWL Gym offers.
A spokesperson for LWL Gym said:
Updates and behind-the-scenes footage from the day will be shared on the gym’s social media channels @lwlgym (Facebook and Instagram). Donations can be made via their JustGiving page: justgiving.com/page/lwlgym-rbl-1
