Further Enforcement Action Taken Against Shore Road Garage

A garage on Shore Road in Littleborough has been served with a further enforcement notice by Rochdale Council, amid ongoing concerns raised by local residents.

Wardle, Shore and West Littleborough Councillor Adam Branton has confirmed that a Community Protection Notice has now been issued to One Stop Auto Repair following discussions with Rochdale Council's Service Manager for Environmental Action and Enforcement.

The latest development follows previous action taken against the business earlier this year, when a Community Protection Notice (CPN) was served by the council. LittleboroughLocal previously reported on that action in May, which was intended to address concerns raised by residents about the operation of the site.

Councillor Branton said that despite earlier enforcement measures, residents have continued to report problems and that further intervention from the council remains necessary.

He welcomed what he described as an increased commitment from the local authority, stating that additional resources are being allocated to tackle problem garage sites across the borough. He said this should lead to more compliance visits and a review of the existing enforcement measures already in place at the Shore Road premises.

Councillor Branton added that he had made clear his support for further enforcement action and would continue to press the council for results on behalf of local residents.

Speaking about the ongoing concerns, he acknowledged growing frustration within the community, saying residents in Shore and West Littleborough had been waiting a long time to see improvements and wanted to see practical action rather than further delays.

He also urged members of the public to continue reporting any issues connected to the site, including photographs and details of dates and times where possible. According to Councillor Branton, evidence submitted by residents has played a key role in helping authorities build a case for further action, and continued reporting will be important if additional enforcement becomes necessary.

Thanking residents for their efforts, he said the community's persistence and willingness to provide evidence had been instrumental in bringing the matter to the attention of enforcement officers.
