The Moorcock gets new lease of life under Blackstone team
The Moorcock has announced its new operators: a partnership between Lancashire Hospitality and The Empire, two Rochdale-based businesses with nearly a decade of experience working together. The news, while long rumoured locally, was officially confirmed by the new team.
Operating under the name "The Blackstone" the new management aims to revitalize the well-known countryside pub. While the pub itself will retain its name, "The Moorcock" the Blackstone team explained their name choice as an homage to the surrounding Pennine landscape."Our goal is simple: to give the Moorcock the best chance of success," posted
a spokesperson for Blackstone. Plans include a focus on local ales, a fresh, country-inspired menu, friendly service, and a consistently high-quality experience. The team has spent the last few weeks making improvements to the pub and are eager to reveal the changes to the public.
The Blackstone team also expressed their gratitude to the previous owner, Darren, and confirmed that all existing staff have been offered positions under the new management.
The Moorcock will reopen its doors this Thursday evening for drinks only, with food service beginning on Saturday, February 8th. Phone lines, online bookings, and the online menu will all be available starting Monday at 12pm. Anne and Ben, representing the Blackstone team, expressed their thanks for the warm welcome and promised further updates soon. They look forward to welcoming patrons to the newly revitalized Moorcock.
