Childminder Celebrates Fifth ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Rating
A Littleborough childminder has once again achieved the highest possible Ofsted rating for an incredible fifth consecutive inspection.
Celine’s Childcare Services, which has been nurturing young minds in the community since 1994, received the accolade following an inspection last month. The report praised Celine’s “warm and welcoming home-from-home environment” where children “thrive” and “feel valued”, describing the setting as “outstanding” across all four inspection areas - quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Inspector Mehvish Arif noted that children at the setting “show high levels of confidence and self-worth”, and that the childminder “takes exceptional care to provide a challenging and ambitious curriculum for all”. The report highlighted the way children engage deeply with stories, language, mathematics, and the natural world - and how the setting’s nurturing approach helps them develop confidence, kindness, and curiosity.
Celine’s Childcare follows a Montessori-inspired approach within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), offering a quieter, language-rich environment that encourages exploration, imagination, and problem-solving. Every part of the home-based setting is designed to allow children to learn through play at their own pace, while developing independence, empathy, and social skills.
Celine said she was “absolutely thrilled” with the result and proud that her child-centred philosophy continues to be recognised:
“To be judged Outstanding for the fifth time is an incredible honour. It’s a reflection of the wonderful children, supportive families, and the community that surrounds us. Every day, I’m inspired by the curiosity, creativity, and kindness of the children in my care.”
The Ofsted report also praised Celine’s inclusive practice and her commitment to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, noting her use of sign language, adapted environments, and close collaboration with other professionals. Parents described the setting as one that “goes above and beyond”, with exceptional communication and strong partnerships that help every child flourish.
Children at Celine’s benefit from a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors - from exploring the fairy garden and woodland investigation area to visits to local farms, museums and fire stations. These experiences, Ofsted said, help children connect their learning to the wider world and prepare them exceptionally well for school and life beyond.
Celine’s Childcare continues to offer a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for children aged from nine months to four years, helping them “develop to their full potential as individuals” while celebrating diversity, respect and traditional values.
