Gallery Frank to Host "Mormorio" Exhibition, Exploring Water's Essence
Ebor Studio's Gallery Frank is set to unveil its latest exhibition, "Mormorio," a captivating exploration of water's movement and meaning through the diverse artistic lenses of Kara Lyons, Paul Haywood, and Chris Leach. The exhibition, running from March 15th to April 4th, 2025, promises to immerse viewers in the fluid world of water, interpreted through various mediums.
"Mormorio," Italian for "murmur," delves into the subtle yet powerful presence of water, capturing its essence through clay, graphite, gouache, carbon drawings, video, and photography. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the theme:
Kara Lyons: Presents clay and graphite-based works, reflecting the interplay between human traces and the natural flow of water.
Chris Leach: Offers miniature gouache seascapes, exploring the intricacies of perception and place within the vastness of the ocean.
Paul Haywood: Captures oceanic patterns through carbon drawings, videos, and photography, revealing the dynamic nature of the sea.
The exhibition will open with a preview on March 15th, from 2pm to 4pm, providing an opportunity for art enthusiasts to experience the works first-hand. A highlight of the exhibition will be an artist talk on March 26th, from 7pm to 8pm, featuring the artists in conversation with special guest, Art Historian Sara Riccardi. This discussion will delve into the exhibition's themes, artistic processes, and areas of shared interest.
"We are thrilled to present 'Mormorio' at Gallery Frank," said a spokesperson for Ebor Studio. "This exhibition showcases the diverse ways in which artists can interpret and represent the powerful force of water, and we invite everyone to come and experience its beauty and depth."
