The White House Awarded CAMRA Special Award for 21 Years in the Good Beer Guide

The White House, perched atop Blackstone Edge overlooking the Pennine moors, has been honoured with a CAMRA Special Award 2025 in recognition of its consistent inclusion in the Good Beer Guide for an impressive 21 consecutive years 

Dating back to 1671, the former coaching inn - originally named the Coach and Horses - is still celebrated for both its rich history and dedication to serving top-quality real ale. Situated around 1,300 feet above sea level, the pub offers panoramic views of the surrounding moorland and Hollingworth Lake, capturing both heritage and scenic charm 

The Good Beer Guide, now in its 52nd edition, remains the UK’s best-selling beer and pub guide, curated by CAMRA volunteers and featuring approximately 4,500 of the nation’s best pubs 

The 2025 edition notably features dual covers showcasing two familiar soapland locals - Coronation Street’s Rovers Return Inn and Emmerdale’s Woolpack - symbolising the pivotal role pubs play in community life, both real and fictional
