Trial ‘Proms in the Park’ to Take Place in Littleborough

The Friends of Hare Hill Park are preparing to host a special trial event, Proms in the Park, on Friday 20th September from 6pm to 8.30pm.

Set in the grounds of Hare Hill Park, the evening will feature performances from Littleborough Band, Littleborough Training Band, and Boro' Brass, with a programme of brass band favourites alongside traditional Proms classics such as Rule Britannia and Jerusalem.

The event forms part of this year’s Heritage Open Days, marking the 250th anniversary of Hare Hill House. To add to the celebratory atmosphere, free flags will be handed out to attendees, encouraging plenty of waving and singing along.

Refreshments will be available, and organisers hope the concert will attract a wide audience of local residents and music lovers. If successful, Proms in the Park is expected to become an annual highlight in the Littleborough events calendar.

The Chair of Friends of Hare Hill Park, Ady Woodhead, said:

“We’re really excited to trial Proms in the Park this year. It’s a chance to bring the community together in celebration, and if people enjoy it, we hope to make it a regular event.”

The group is also appealing for volunteers to help out on the night with stewarding and general support.

This is a community event, with no booking required.
