Pavement Extension Completed on Town House Road

Residents walking along Town House Road will now have a safer and cleaner route after a pavement extension was recently completed.

The improvement means pedestrians no longer have to choose between stepping into the road or walking through mud when travelling along the stretch. The work has been funded through local township funding, which is specifically designed to support practical improvements that benefit the community.

Local councillors say the project shows how small, targeted investments can make a real difference to everyday life for residents.

Councillors are also encouraging people to come forward with ideas for further improvements around Littleborough that could be supported through the same funding.

Residents with suggestions can contact their local ward councillors:

  • Cllr Tom Besford – 07929 577894 – tom.besford@rochdale.gov.uk
  • Cllr Janet Emsley – 07812 220430 – janet.emsley@rochdale.gov.uk
  • Cllr Richard Jackson – 07949 114862 – richard.jackson@rochdale.gov.uk

Residents can also speak to councillors in person at the regular ward surgeries:

  • First Saturday of each month – 10am to 11am at Littleborough United Reformed Church, Victoria Street
  • Third Saturday of each month – 10am to 11am at Smithy Bridge Library, Smithy Bridge Road

Township funding is available for projects that improve the local area, and councillors are keen to hear from residents who have ideas for similar practical upgrades.
