Littleborough Band Celebrate a String of Podium Finishes at Whit Friday 2026
Littleborough Band enjoyed one of their strongest Whit Friday outings in recent years, securing multiple second‑place finishes across Saddleworth and Oldham during the 2026 contests held on Friday 29th May.
Competing for the first time back in the 3rd Section, the band delivered a consistent and confident set of performances and made even more impressive by the debut of their new 16‑year‑old Principal Cornet, who rose to the occasion with maturity beyond their years.
Results Summary:
- Denshaw – 2nd in the 3rd Section
- Friezland – 2nd overall
- Grotton – 2nd in the 3rd Section
- Grotton – 2nd Best Local Band
- Lees & Springhead – 2nd in the 3rd Section
These results reflect a day of consistency and musical quality, with the band placing highly at every village they visited.
A spokesperson for the band said they were “delighted with the results” and proud of how the players performed throughout the day.
