Tribute: Littleborough Rugby Club Mourns the Passing of Tony Fraternale
Littleborough Rugby Club has announced the sad passing of Tony Fraternale, a much‑loved figure whose influence has shaped generations of players and families within the club.
Tony was a proud part of the club’s rugby heritage, representing Littleborough at senior level and later dedicating his time to coaching and developing young talent. His guidance helped shape the careers of players such as Sam Dickinson and Mark Murgatroyd, as well as his own son, Dominic, who followed in his footsteps on the field.
Tony’s legacy continues through the next generation of his family. His granddaughters, Chia, who plays for the U16s, and Mia, a member of the U11s, carry forward his passion for the sport and his deep connection to the club community.
In their announcement, the Club expressed heartfelt condolences to Tony’s family, sharing that his memory will remain firmly embedded in the club’s history and spirit.
This is a deeply felt loss for everyone who knew Tony - teammates, players he coached, volunteers, supporters, and the wider Littleborough sporting community.
Our thoughts are with Tony’s family, friends, and all who are grieving at this difficult time.
