LittlePinkBorough Launches to Raise Money for Cancer Research UK

A month-long wave of pink is set to sweep across Littleborough as LittlePinkBorough gets underway, bringing together local businesses, community groups and residents to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The campaign, which begins today, will see shops across the town turning pink in support of cancer research, with a variety of fundraising activities planned throughout the coming weeks.

One of the most visible parts of the initiative will be the LittlePinkBorough window display campaign, with participating shops decorating their windows in pink to show their support and help raise awareness throughout the town centre.

Fitness enthusiasts can also get involved, with LWL Gym hosting a special pink-themed gym session on 18th October as part of the fundraising effort.

Meanwhile, The Coach House will be the venue for a number of community activities, including a Cake Off on 4th October and a Quiz Night on 24th October, giving residents the chance to have fun while supporting an important cause.

Adding a touch of star quality to the campaign, Dolly Parton will be making appearances at Platinum Beauty on Saturdays throughout October. Visitors are invited to call in and see the country music legend's lookalike appearance, which is expected to bring plenty of smiles and photo opportunities while supporting the fundraising initiative.  Dolly will be around the salon at 11.45-12.15 with her collection hat this Saturday and at selected times throughout the rest of the month on each Saturday.  You may donate as little or as much as you like and donations of £5 or over receive a raffle ticket to win a £30 Gift voucher.

Altham's Travel will be hosting a Coffee Morning on 10th October.

Organisers, The Three Amigos Fundraising Group, hope the campaign will encourage people across Littleborough to get involved, whether by taking part in an event, visiting participating businesses, donating, or simply supporting the pink-themed activities taking place around the town.

Cancer affects millions of people and their families, and funds raised through LittlePinkBorough will help support the vital work carried out by Cancer Research UK in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.

If you can't make it to the shops or any of the events but still want to help, you can donate here.
