New England Design Launches Autumn & Winter Craft Workshops
New England Design, the long‑established family‑run furniture manufacturer on Todmorden Road, Littleborough, is opening its doors this autumn and winter for a new series of hands‑on craft workshops. Known locally for their craftsmanship, upholstery expertise and bespoke furniture, the team is extending their skills to the community with three creative sessions running from October through February.
Autumn Fabric Wreath – 2 October
3pm–5pm · £29
The season begins with a cosy, beginner‑friendly workshop where participants can craft their own autumn fabric wreath. Using a mix of textured fabrics in warm, earthy tones, attendees will learn simple techniques to create a unique decorative piece perfect for the front door or home display.
Christmas Wreath – 4 December
3pm–5pm · £49
December brings a festive favourite: a traditional Christmas wreath workshop using fresh foliage, pinecones, berries, dried oranges and ribbon. Guided by New England Design’s skilled makers, participants will build a beautiful wreath to bring seasonal cheer to their home throughout the holidays.
Footstool Upholstery – 5 February
12pm–3pm · £149
The series concludes with a practical upholstery workshop offering a deeper dive into furniture making. Attendees will construct and upholster their own bespoke footstool, learning techniques used by the New England Design team in their day‑to‑day craft. This session is ideal for anyone interested in furniture, interiors or trying a more advanced creative project.
Each workshop includes expert tuition, all materials, and a welcoming environment rooted in the company’s decades of craftsmanship. With limited spaces available, early booking is encouraged via the New England Design website.
The workshops mark a new chapter for the family business, giving residents the chance to learn new skills, meet fellow makers, and experience the artistry behind one of Littleborough’s most respected furniture manufacturers
