Wallis’ Amusements Switches from Just Eat to Uber Eats for Food Deliveries
Wallis’ Amusements in Littleborough has announced it is moving its online food delivery service from Just Eat to Uber Eats, citing ongoing frustrations with delivery delays, poor customer service, and repeated order issues.
In a message to customers, the team at Wallis’ explained that problems with Just Eat had become “almost every order,” ranging from drivers taking far longer than promised to food arriving cold or even missing. Over the past three months alone, 17 orders were cancelled or refunded due to delivery issues, leaving both the business and its customers dissatisfied.
“As a small team, we work hard to make sure every order goes out as it should,” the statement read. “But it’s us that suffers with the complaints, refunds, and lower ratings – not Just Eat. It isn’t fair on our staff or our loyal customers who are left waiting too long for food.”
Wallis’ said it had tried to adapt, including delaying cooking until drivers arrived in an effort to keep food hot and ensuring drivers confirmed collection via the Just Eat app. Despite these measures, problems persisted.
The business now hopes Uber Eats will provide a faster, more reliable service for Littleborough customers. To encourage the switch, Wallis’ will be offering special deals on Uber Eats throughout the next month.
Customers can also continue to order for collection directly, either via Just Eat (selecting “collection”) or by calling the venue and paying in-store on arrival.
The team signed off by thanking their loyal customer base: “We want everyone, whether dining in or ordering out, to enjoy our food and have a positive experience. Thank you for sticking with us while we make this change.”
