Littleborough creative studios launch scheme to support new graduates

A creative community in Littleborough is offering a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their artistic career.

Ebor Studio Group has launched its Kickstarter Scheme, giving a Rochdale-based creative the chance to join its established community of artists for a full year.

The group, which is made up of 34 creatives, says it believes strongly in the power of collaboration and shared experience to help artists grow and develop their work.

The successful applicant will receive one year of Associate Membership, allowing them to become part of the studio’s supportive network while developing their practice alongside experienced creatives.

As part of the scheme, the selected graduate will also receive personalised mentoring for a year from established Rochdale artists, as well as a £100 stipend to help cover travel and materials for artistic projects.

The opportunity will also culminate in a chance to showcase their work publicly, with an invitation to exhibit in the Associate Members Group Show in Spring 2027 during the studios’ annual Open Studios event.

Previous recipient Abi Black said the programme had been a valuable step at the start of her career.

“My mentoring was tailored to my goals as a new graduate. The community at Ebor have been both supportive and motivating at this pivotal part of my career.

The Kickstarter Scheme has been a great way to get advice from established artists who have skills and experience in areas that I wish to pursue.”

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be based in the Rochdale borough
  • Have graduated from a creative degree within the last two years

Applications for the scheme close at midday on Wednesday 1 April.
